In Memory of Bradley Moody
1979 - 2008

Everyone deals with grief in different ways.

It's been a year this week since Brad was in the car accident that eventually took his life. As many still struggle and ask why he was taken so soon, we look for ways to feel better and to make our grief easier to deal with. One way, we're told, is to focus on something positive.

With that in mind, the idea came about to focus on Organ Donation Awareness. Brad had made the honorable decision to register to be an organ donor and with the support of his family, Brad's organs saved four other lives! (Brad's heart also enabled a donor to spend an additional three months with his family before passing...)

The entire Moody Family lives on proudly knowing that Brad saved lives as he left this earth.

We are deeming October 4 - 10, 2009 "Brad's Heart Week" in honor of Bradley's gift of life. Have you registered to be an organ donor? If not, please click on the links on the right. If you are registered or have an organ donor story to share, please click on "comments" below this post to share your story with the Moody Family! And if you register in honor of Brad, we'd ESPECIALLY love to hear!

God Bless and Rest In Peace Brad!

* Our goal is to have 25 new donors registered this week in Brad's honor/memory! WE MADE OUR GOAL!!! AMAZING!!! We are now at 41! Just for you Brad :)

And just so you know (Brad) there are many additional friends who would have LOVED to sign up for you, but were already registered! Way to go to those of you who were signed up already ~ just like Brad! :)

Keep us posted so we can update the count by clicking on "comment" below or email us at creativekimfunk@gmail.com !! *

That was easy! It took about 3 minutes to receive this message:
"Your online donor registration is now complete, guaranteeing under the California Uniform Anatomical Gift Act that your wishes to save lives will be honored and will not require the consent of any other person."
I am now a registered donor - and although it didn't give me an option to do it in someone's honor... we know who I did it for!

Who will be next!?

Kim thank you so much for setting this up. I know that the Moody's will be so proud. I think that it is amazing that Brad continues to move and inspire so many people to give of themselves and create positive change in this world.

I went and signed up as well. It was easy. It was a little scary...thinking of what will happen to all my parts and pieces when I am gone. However I saw the impact that Brad's decision made not only on the strangers who received his donations, but on Susan, Emma, Madison, Betty, Jim, James, Jen, Michelle, Tanner, Jaiden and everyone else who was able to see and HUG the results.

Good job Kim. Love you all.

I've been an organ and bone marrow donor for years and strongly believe in it. Donating blood is just as important as well. Someone we all know recently passed waiting for a kidney donor... In today's society that should never happen. I implore everyone to just take a moment and apply. Why? What id it were your family member?, your child? or even you? Please take that step forward ad Bradley Moody did. He lives on....

I've always had the pink sticker on my license and truly believe in organ donations...Glad I was able to register for this. I lost my academymate John Hege in March of this year and it was well publicized that his organs were donated...

Kim, thank you for setting this up. A wonderful way to honor & celebrate Brad and continue the healing for his entire family. I just took my daughter to get her driving permit yesterday and she registered to be an organ donor. I will certainly pass this on.

After many years of indecision, this has finally convinced me to register as a donor. If I did it, you can too.

Kim and Dave, Thank you for starting this wonderful web page. I have always declined to be a donor for some reason, until now. I just registered in loving memory of RPD #1333.

I can't believe a year has past since we lost such a special and unique individual. As I go by that location my mind flashes back to the great memories I have of Brad and that wonderful smile. I will never forget the feeling I had when I learned that my son would be on Brad's team and I asked him to take care of him and teach him. He said I will Joe don't worry and I never did. I miss him like I do my mother and father.

God Bless Him
